Robert Fogell

I initially trained as a Sculpture Conservator working on classical and modern stone sculpture in public and private collections from around the UK, collections including the British Museum, V&A Museum, English Heritage, and The National Trust

Educational Training at Warwick University (Cert Ed) Northampton College and associate lecturing posts at Leicester University RAC, and Stamford College (BA Fine Art) followed. Combining Art Education and my own studio practice has formed a rewarding artistic journey.

My sculpture explores geometric elements and attempts to convey fundamental properties of symmetry and proportion and how they interact with each other. The sculpture finds itself, in a state of flux, static yet in motion. Experimenting with positive and negative mass (space and solid) is part of the process. Materials include bronze, steel. stone and mixed media.
