I design and create individually handcrafted bags and accessories. As a maker, I draw my inspiration from patterns, textures and structures found within the natural environment. I explore these images through a range of observational drawings, photography, experimental mark making techniques and mono print processes, which are then developed to create my designs. I apply these designs to the surface of fabrics using hand silkscreen printing. I predominantly choose to work with Harris Tweed as each stage of the wool’s manufacture adds to the vibrancy and richness of the material which in turn permits a high-quality screen print. Colour is a vital aspect of my work and I embrace eclectic combinations of hues through my choice of fabrics, inks and finishes. Each item is handmade in my home studio with the purpose of creating bespoke and contemporary pieces for everyday use.
