December 2012 Xmas day my wife Eileen gave me an easel and oil paints and told me to have a go, as you are always drawing. That's how it all started.

Obviously I don't have any formal training, purely self taught. Always had a passion for art, we had a jewellery shop in South Africa and sold art to complement. Have been dealing in art since 1971, but never painted.

I had so many outdoor activities to occupy myself, athlete, canoeist, work rider for local trainers, originally I was apprenticed but I'm too heavy boned to be a jockey, consequently could not do under 9 stone when I matured. I have had racehorses as part of my life, owned a couple and always rode work.

After I retired I started to do art as a hobby and now want to progress. This has developed into a passion, and wish I had started earlier in my life.
