I have been painting and printmaking for many years, but I have recently started to pay more attention to how these two approaches to making art can inform one another, and on occasion be combined. This makes for a diverse and experimental practice exploring painterly prints, ‘painting’ with printmaking tools rather than brushes, and collaging prints into paintings. Creating brings me joy - and the more I do, the more I learn and the more my work evolves. I find inspiration in my surroundings, whether that’s at home or when travelling, but I always seem to return to the local landscape, compelled to explore the small, insignificant details in which I find a quiet beauty.
I have a formal art education with a BA (Fine Art) and an MA (Art & Design) from Loughborough University. In addition to developing my own practice I enjoy sharing my knowledge and enthusiasm with others and deliver printmaking workshops at different venues across Leicestershire.
