Sue Johnson

I am a mixed media artist who loves experimental drawing techniques, colour and shape. I delight in the unexpected results and surprises that can result from intuition, risk, play and collage. I often integrate paper ephemera to yield unexpected results or inspire a new painting. Mono-printing techniques and pattern often feature as well as geometric shapes and sometimes botanical and organic elements and forms.

My background is in printed textiles and I was a self employed designer for many years exhibiting my artwork at Design Fairs in New York and Europe and selling globally.I also taught design and drawing part time at De Montfort University and other universities.

I am now a full time artist and have exhibited and have work in collections here in the U.K, Canada. U.S.A and Australia. I live and work from my home studio in Uppingham.I am currently represented by Tarpey Gallery and British Art Portfolio as well as several other select galleries such as Made, Wistow, Dotty,Giggly Goat and Forest Framing & Gallery where I am exhibiting this year.
